Birth Of Venus
96 × 60 studs (77 × 48 cm) · 5 760 studs of color · parts ≈ €348
About this build
Birth Of Venus rebuilt in bricks measures 96 × 60 studs — 77 × 48 cm once it is on the wall — and takes 4 289 plates. Each stud is one pixel of the original, and nothing is painted or printed: the colour you see is the colour of the plate underneath it.
The engine matched the artwork to 28 of the LEGO® colours we can actually buy. Dark Tan does the most work at 12% of the surface — 517 plates on its own, followed by Tan (11%), Pearl Titanium (8%). That distribution is the fingerprint of this particular image: a portrait leans on skin tones, a night sky spends almost everything on two or three darks.
Buying the plates for this one costs roughly €348 at current second-hand prices, spread across 28 colours. That is the part most people do not expect, and it is why the instructions and the sourcing list are what we sell: the bricks you buy where they are cheapest, or take from what you already own.
